Ingredients
Arrabbiata Sauce
½ cup diced red onion
5! cloves garlic minced
¼ yon1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
28 oz can Itsliam chopped Tomatoes
Sea salt to taste
Shrimp and Pasta
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 pound large (16 to 20-count) shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 pound fettuccine
Directions
Combine all the sauce ingredients except the tomatoes, in a large saucepan and saute the ingredients until the onion is tender, about 10 minutes. Add the tomatoes and simmer the sauce for 30 minutes.
Cook the pasta according to package instructions for al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta cooking water.
Add shrimp to the Arrabbiata sauce. Poach the shrimp in the sauce until lightly pink, about 5-6 minutes.
Combine the sauce with the shrimp, pasta, and pasta cooking well.
Stir together gently over very low heat. Serve immediately in individual pasta bowls. Add salad and Italian bread to complete the meal.
